FAQ: Plans and billing
Prices are on the pricing page. Your current plan and usage are under Settings > Billing & usage in the app. The binding text for everything below is section 5 of the Terms of Service.
What does the Free plan include?
Section titled “What does the Free plan include?”Each month: 10 analysis runs, about 15 AI actions, and 100 MB of storage, for one person. Every statistical method, the identifier scan and de-identification, and the reproducible package are included on every plan, Free too.
What do the paid plans add?
Section titled “What do the paid plans add?”Pro is for one researcher: 500 analysis runs, about 300 AI actions and 5 GB of storage a month. Team is for a lab, with 500 runs, about 150 AI actions and 2.5 GB of storage per seat, pooled across the workspace, from 3 to 25 seats. For more than 25 seats or custom terms, contact us.
Both paid plans also include:
- Shareable report links
- Multiple reports per project
- SPSS, Stata and SAS import
- Advanced data preparation
- Assistant without a dataset
- Share a project with a collaborator
What counts as an analysis run?
Section titled “What counts as an analysis run?”Each analysis that completes counts as one run. A run that fails does not count. A run you stop part-way still counts.
What is an AI action?
Section titled “What is an AI action?”The AI allowance is measured in tokens, the units AI models are billed in. An AI action - a method suggestion, an interpretation, a chat turn - uses a few thousand of them, so the number of actions shown is an estimate, rounded down. The statistics themselves use no AI and never touch this allowance. Interpretation is optional per run, so turning it off saves AI actions.
When do allowances reset?
Section titled “When do allowances reset?”Analysis runs and AI tokens reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC), on every plan. Storage is not a monthly allowance: it reflects what you currently keep, every dataset version and reproducible package. Deleting a dataset or an old report frees it.
A plan change changes your limits, not what you have already used this month. After a downgrade you can be over the new limit until the next reset; uploads over a storage limit are refused until you are under it again, and nothing is deleted.
What happens when I run out?
Section titled “What happens when I run out?”Celeus refuses the action that would go over the limit and tells you which allowance is used up, and how much of it you have used. You can wait for the monthly reset, move to a larger plan, or buy a top-up pack:
- AI pack - 1M tokens.
- Analysis pack - 200 runs.
- Storage pack - 25 GB added permanently, on any plan - no plan change and no seat change needed.
Packs are bought from Settings > Billing & usage, and the price is shown before you pay. A pack is a one-time purchase: Celeus never bills extra usage automatically.
I have a code from the Celeus team. How do I use it?
Section titled “I have a code from the Celeus team. How do I use it?”In the app, open Settings > Billing & usage and redeem the code there. It activates Pro with no card needed. If your workspace already has a paid subscription, a code cannot be redeemed on top of it.
While a complimentary period or a promotional discount is active, the plan, billing interval and number of seats cannot be changed; the billing panel shows when they can. Cancelling is always possible.
How does billing work?
Section titled “How does billing work?”Paid plans are billed through Stripe, monthly or annually. Prices are shown before tax, and tax is added to an invoice where it applies. A subscription renews automatically at the start of each term until you cancel it. Your renewal date is your own - the day you subscribed - and a plan change does not move it, unless the change starts a new annual term.
When you change your plan, billing interval or seats in the billing panel, a confirmation dialog shows either the amount due now or the date the change takes effect before anything happens.
What happens when I upgrade?
Section titled “What happens when I upgrade?”Moving to a higher plan or to more seats applies at once and is charged at once, prorated: you pay the new price for the rest of the current term, less the unused part of what you had already paid for it. Moving from Pro to Team happens in the app: you choose the number of seats, from 3 to 25, and see the price before you confirm.
Moving from monthly to annual billing starts a new twelve-month term that day, charged at the annual price less the unused part of the month you had already paid for. Your renewal date moves to that day. Annual billing is a twelve-month commitment: if you cancel, the unused part of the year is not refunded.
If the payment for an upgrade is declined, nothing changes and nothing is collected later. If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, the upgrade applies only once you do.
What happens when I downgrade on monthly billing?
Section titled “What happens when I downgrade on monthly billing?”Moving from Team to Pro, or to fewer seats, takes effect at the end of the current month. You keep what you paid for until then, and the unused part of the month is not credited.
How do I leave annual billing?
Section titled “How do I leave annual billing?”Switching to monthly billing, moving from Team to Pro, or moving to fewer seats on an annual subscription lets you choose when it takes effect. Both options are shown with their dates before you confirm:
- When your annual term renews. You keep your current plan until the end of the year you paid for, and nothing is re-priced.
- On your next monthly date - the next monthly anniversary of your annual term. The months you have used, including the month then ending, are re-priced at the monthly price of the plan and seats you had in each. Whatever you paid for the year beyond that becomes prepaid time on the new plan: as many whole months as it pays for at the new plan’s monthly price, with any remainder smaller than one month taken off your first charge after them. You are never charged more for the months you used than you paid for the year.
For example: if you paid $190 for a year of Pro, whose monthly price is $19, and you switch to monthly billing on your next monthly date after 2 months, those months are re-priced at $38, and the remaining $152 covers 8 months of Pro before your first monthly charge.
Used months are re-priced at the monthly price that was offered alongside the annual price you paid. If there is no record of that price for your subscription, switching on your next monthly date is not offered, and you can switch when your annual term renews.
If the new plan is also annual (Team to Pro, or fewer seats), a new twelve-month term starts when the prepaid time runs out.
What is prepaid time?
Section titled “What is prepaid time?”The part of an annual payment that carries over to a new plan when you leave annual billing early. The new plan is not charged until it runs out, and tax you paid on the annual invoice is not charged again. Prepaid time is not refundable, including if you later cancel, and cannot be exchanged for cash. While it is running, the plan, billing interval and number of seats cannot be changed; the billing panel shows the date they can.
Can I cancel a scheduled change?
Section titled “Can I cancel a scheduled change?”Yes. A scheduled change shows in the billing panel with its date, and Cancel scheduled change removes it any time before it takes effect. A change cannot be scheduled while your subscription is set to cancel.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Section titled “How do I cancel my subscription?”Choose Cancel subscription in Settings > Billing & usage. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the term you have already paid for: you keep access until then and are not charged again. Until that date you can choose Resume subscription, and it renews as before. Cancelling also removes any scheduled plan change. If you cancel while prepaid time is running, you keep access until it ends.
Can I get a refund?
Section titled “Can I get a refund?”Subscription charges are not refunded; a cancelled subscription simply stops renewing, and prepaid time is never paid out in cash. A top-up pack you have not drawn on at all can be refunded in full, and a request within fourteen days of the purchase is eligible on that basis alone. A partly used pack is not refunded. Refund requests go to legal@celeus.ai.
Where do I see my usage?
Section titled “Where do I see my usage?”Settings > Billing & usage shows each allowance and how much of it is used this month.
